The Yoghurt Rooms Barn, East Grinstead
Zoe and Daz’s plans for a festival style wedding in a rustic barn in East Grinstead, West Sussex was so very them. Yoghurt Rooms was only 40 mins from their front door and it was all very personal. This made for some lovely documentary photography.
They had an intimate civil ceremony in East Court Estate which is set in parkland conveniently nestled in the serene countryside of Sussex with sweeping views overlooking Ash-down Forest in the distance and a great place for family and group photography. After the ceremony, Zoe and Daz lead the way, in Zoe’s mini copper. Showing the relaxed and down to earth style of this wedding.
On reaching Yoghurt Rooms (a short drive away) it was decorated with elements of their personalities, the centre pieces and beautifully crafted details on the theme of music all formed a great location for the food and festivities. The tents were out, the Pimms ready to be served and the BBQ was a light.
So the speeches began... There were some heartfelt emotional words from Daz having overcome leukaemia the year before and having to cancel their original date and wait a whole year while he recovered. There was not a dry eye in the house. Daz got his inevitable grilling from the best man. There were some hilarious tales of their times at work, such characters. The final words have been of course with Zoe. Her speech plucking at our heart strings and making us laugh with her ‘how to be a good wife’ present to Daz. There was laughter and smiles all round
Zoe and Daz’s wedding ran flawlessly from start to finish. Everyone was having too much fun. You could even get your caricature done… and Claire and I got one! There was the threat of rain but it soon it went and well in to the late afternoon the sun shone flooding the barn with light and making it a treat for photography.The best thing about the venue was that nothing was too far away. A little shoot ten minutes here and there was all required.
